Melissa Donne is an illustrator and surface pattern designer from the South Coast, UK. She studied Fashion Design and Film Theory at University and began illustrating digitally and selling her art in 2019. Her creative practice is underpinned by her love of colour which informs all of her work. She is influenced by traditional forms of illustration such as botanicals, nature and food, but likes to give them an abstract feel to create something unique and original.
She has worked on freelance commissions and projects for a number of brands including Casetify, Quadrille Publishing, Unwind Studio and Orange Circle Studio, and most recently created a capsule wallpaper collection for Canadian brand Otto Studio. She has published a number of digital guides aimed at running a small creative business, and has also launched a mentorship programme for makers and illustrators.
She works from her home studio in Southampton, where she lives with her husband and young son. In her free time she loves to visit exhibitions, reading and watching French films.
